Dalgleish Therapies - bryan.dalgleish-warburton@sky.com

As an ex-smoker myself – I know how difficult it can be to stop smoking. Comments from loved ones and friends and the social restrictions placed on smokers don’t help. We often enter a cycle of Change (click here).
But the point is we decide that we will STOP smoking usually for other reasons – the secret being that we actually subconsciously don’t really want to! Even if we do want to STOP the habit pokes us and we give in – making our plans redundant and reducing our commitment and motivation (relapse).

A WARNING:

Some websites will suggest that hypnosis has a good effect and a good success rate with helping people to stop. The literature / evidence supporting this claim is not that clear (click here).

Most hypnotherapy treatments for smoking cessation can cost between £100.00 to £300.00! You normally get one 2 hour session for this.

THE GOOD NEWS:

A motivational approach that uses Motivational Interviewing along with Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Hypnotherapy can be useful in helping you to negotiate the cycle of change and give you the tools you require to maintain the change and take control. Of course you can still fall off the wagon again in the future – but you just get back on again and I can help by offering a free follow up session.
